How to Prepare for Your Tax Strategy Session
As an existing Gallagher client, you will automatically receive an email with a schedule time for your Tax Strategy Session. We’ve made this process as convenient as possible, allowing you to reschedule your meeting time directly from your email.
If you’re happy with your appointment time, there’s a few things you’ll need to take care of to make the most of your appointment and your tax year.
What is the Tax Strategy Session?
The Tax Strategy Session is a collaborative conversation. Together, we will explore the latest tax changes, analyze potential outcomes of your income tax, and devise strategies to minimize your tax liability. This appointment marks the beginning of our work on your taxes, and it relies on the information you provide.
Your active participation is key to maximizing the effectiveness of our session. To ensure we can deliver an in-depth strategy, we kindly request that you submit your documents 10 days prior to your scheduled session.
Before Your Session
Upload your tax information 10 days prior to your appointment.
What you need to do: Upload your tax information and source documents to the ‘Client Portal’ or have them delivered to our office 10 days before your schedule appointment time.

Please note, we are no longer automatically generating paper tax organizers. If you prefer to have a printed tax organizer, please contact us. We’re happy to print and send one to you. Your satisfaction is important to us.
Collect your questions and concerns regarding changes in your income, properties, finances.
During the Session
During the meeting, find somewhere cozy and private where you’ll feel comfortable discussing your financials. Pour a cup of tea or coffee and let’s enjoy a nice conversation and uncover the best strategy for you.
For our 30-minute conversation, you’ll want to be in a place where you can openly discuss your financial year.
Video Conference: If you are scheduled for a video conference, you’ll find the link to join the meeting in your original email confirmation.
Phone Call: If you are scheduled for a phone call, we will call you at your appointed time.
Frequently Needed Documents
Form W-2: Wages, etc.
Form 1099: Interest, dividends, subcontracting, etc.
Schedule K-1: Income/loss from partnerships, S-corp, etc.
Form 1098: Mortgage interest & property tax statements.
Closing Statements: Pertaining to real estate transactions.
Notices from Tax Authorities: Any tax notices received from tax authorities.
